What a Week!

We've felt the first day of spring. Sunshine on our cheeks warmed them up nicely. Overnight the ice on the lake melted beneath a gentle rain. The same rain worked a while on the giant mountains of snow in the parking lots in town, and they are shrinking slowly, but surely. Today's sunshine and 60 degree temperature created little rivulets of water melting those mountains bit by bit from below. The birds are singing, no doubt happy that they can check out bird feeders without being blown away by cold blustery winds. But spring doesn't promise instant lasting warmth. Spring teases with a roller coaster ride of temperatures, and with warm sunny days followed by a step back into cold rainy days and we feel a chill. A Spark Friend of mine has been talking about the changing light. Since we turned the clocks ahead I too have seen the light she is talking about. The light comes earlier and lasts longer. The light of spring moves us from the chilly dark days to knowing that with the light we will turn the corner and one day soon see the green shoots we long for and the colors of spring flowers.
At our house this week my husband has been spending a lot of time on the couch with vertigo that started last Sunday afternoon. He tried going back to work on Wednesday only to relapse with another bout of dizziness. So he started some medication which we hope helps, and he is getting plenty of rest and is able to eat now. Sunday night and into Monday he suffered bouts of nausea and vomiting from the spinning he felt whenever he moved his head or even opened his eyes.. I was kept busy tending to his needs. He hopes to be able to be up and about tomorrow for a bit and hopefully the dizziness will not return. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
