Off to Europe... (2014- Blog #77)

Wednesday, March 19, 2014

Well, tonight is the last night before I leave for Europe to see my father who is not well. I meet up with my two sisters - one who lives in Germany and one who lives in CA. The emotions are varied and I have put them on hold for now.

Bags are packed... I travel super light with no checked luggage. My priorities are to keep up the exercise while gone. Thus, the running shoes made it in :) as did the running sweats. It sure would be sweet to be able to find some nice places to run.

On our second to last day we are renting bikes to go to the Monet Gardens. I can't think of a better kind of day. And I get to do my favorite all time kind of travel - by train. So, all in all, though the purpose of the trip is a bit sad, it will be a trip to remember. It is my home... one of my homes. I was born in UK and my dad is French so we lived there part of the year each year ... and then I moved to the US...

I do need to go into this "non routine time" with a sense of purpose so that I can stay on track with my overall goals. So I have made a short list of focus goals for the next 15 days.
My goals while out of my routine:
emoticon Eat well.. and within reason.
emoticon Walk much and run when possible.
emoticon Enjoy moments.
emoticon Capture life.
emoticon Ride the train .. a lot.
emoticon Savor time with family.
emoticon Log in to Spark each and every day. Do not want to break my streak!
emoticon Post a photo here once a day so that my blogging streak stays alive as well. I will blog more once I get home.

Off to bed. Gotta get up early. Make sure all my key items are still packed: passport, rail pass, $ and my ticket. The rest is gravy :)

See you on the flip side...
