The Derailment Crew Showed Up! (2014- Blog #72)

"The main cause for failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want at the moment."
The last few days I bent to "what I wanted in the moment". I chose rest or getting "one more" hour of work done... As much as I would like to rationalize both choices, I was bending to the moment and not what I know I needed to do. No excuses accepted.
But today was different. The Derailment Crew took up residence in my head ALL DAY LONG! i was at a pretty intense training all day long but today's plan to get back on track was never far from my front burner. I know my goals. I know what to do. I know that really, I can be lazy. So today I had to overcome that tendency and I told myself I had to get to the gym.
I did not go to the gym.
But don't get disappointed. I did something even better! I did think about the gym. Packed BOTH shoes today and was ready to go there. But the weather was so nice and driving across town to go to the gym when the late afternoon air was beckoning just did not seem right. The sky was full of character. The mountain was dressed in a fine fog. Yup. Today my whole body was urging me to get back on track. I planned to go out for about 3 miles but had a great 5 mile interval run.
YES INDEED... The Derailment Crew did a great job!
P.S. Thanks to all of you for expecting the crew to show up... that actually helped a lot
