Spa day with the girls and catch up with a BFF

Wednesday, March 12, 2014

Yesterday turned out to be quite the day!

First My SIL fetched us and let me drop off a birthday gift for a BFF on the way up to drop the boys off at their cousins so that us girls ( moms and daughters) could have our spa date!
We gave a gift certificate to the girls for Christmas so we thought we would make it a date during March break.

My daughter was so funny to watch. It was her fist time getting a pedicure and she found it really ticklish and was not so sure about the scrub part of the process! It was so cute to watch!
You gotta be tough to be a girl! LOL

This was her toes. ( I just had a mani with light pink polish, my poor hands are wrecked and cracked after this brutal winter)

We went for lunch and had panini's and then back to the boys to finish off the rest of the birthday cake.

Then we went back home and had a relaxing afternoon. Then I suddenly remembered that a BFF and I who had been trying to get together for literally months had set the time to get together last night! We had to put it off for a snow storm once and then another thing came up and on it went. So we decided to meet because looking forward to our schedules it was going to get HARDER to get together as time went on.

So I met her for dinner and had a burger....I can't remember the last time I had a burger! Really, I can't ! It was so good! Then I went shopping for my niece and nephew's birthday party coming up on Sunday. I only got home after 9:30 pm!

Last night I did not sleep well though, it was warmer than usual, ( pre snow storm warm) and I felt thirsty and dehydrated! I did not sleep at all well and woke up in a daze! After packing DH's lunch I went back to bed and tried to sleep a little. I felt a little better after that! I am not doing well this week with having our routine messed up! YES it has been fun! My body is not loving it though! LOL!

I was so ready to get back to "THE PLAN" and so I gave myself a "day off" today by having broccoli soup, lots of tea and I will have chicken and salad for dinner!

I have soaked some flax seeds all day and will toast them soon. I have one portion of pumpkin chia to have for breakfast and will get back on THE PLAN in full force tomorrow!

The next few days are going to be crazy, but at least I got some laundry and housework done today, shoveled the driveway twice, there is a snow storm out there!

I am going to take this evening to prep some veggies, get out my food processor and chop some veggies and get them ready for roasting and make sure I am prepared for the next few days!

Grocery shopping will be tomorrow night! Tomorrow is going to be hectic...orthodontist appointment and all! Means I have to take DH to work if I want the car. Then at night I have to go fetch him!

I really need a car! It has been a year and a half now and I have tried to put up with doing without one, but it really puts so much extra pressure and stress on me! Summer is coming up! ( I HOPE!) and I don't want to be stuck at home with 2 kids though the summer.

It is almost dinner time, I have to get going on cooking up something for the family! We have leftover chicken and I will just add some extras to it to make a meal.

My kids wish chickens had more than two legs! LOL

SO....tomorrow is going to be different, no more unfriendly food! Here we go!

What an awesome day you had!! I'm sorry it didn't go well with your tummy but it sounds like it was worth it! Making memories - gotta love that. My Brandy is 40 this year and we still talk of our 'Mom/Daughter' days - in fact we still HAVE them when she has time. That's what makes life special!!

Sorry about the car situation - hope you can get one soon!!

I just luuuuuv those little toes...too cute.
I can feel your frustration regarding your car...Im in the same boat since our bakkie burned out. If I want the car, I have to drop and fetch hubby from work. Generally I just dont bother, but the days I have Axel to watch, I simply have to. Very frustrating.

what a lovely day you had with family and then dinner with your friend. I love a good burger and always think the bun spoils it, so I leave that..
Being out of your routine can really mess with your sleep and food :( Well done getting back on track!!
I hear you about sharing a car... not fun at all.

I'm sure there was more sodium in that burger then you are used to which just adds to the dehyrdation! :( It's life, so hard to live in moderation!

What is the temperature out? I can't believe you are getting a snow storm today... in Calgary it is beautiful and SUNNY!!! Seriously, BIZARRE! Stay safe & warm!!!

Love the blue toenails! I don't know how you live without a car, that would make me nuts. ;-)
