Puppies and exercise

Wednesday, March 12, 2014

So I may be the only person in existence who gets less exercise now that she has a puppy. To be fair, most of my exercise takes me out of the house and away from him, so it's understandable when I can't do some of it, but between my knee injury (oh, wow, it's bee a while since I've been on here!), and puppy, I've been getting... fat. Ugh.

Happies:

-- this is what happens when we walk on the road instead of the bike path: Noooo! Don't make me leave my beloved snowbank!!! --

So today I've committed to re-focusing on my diet and improving that, as well as getting my exercise while I can. Upside: spring might be soon on it's way, making it safer (and less frickin' freezing!) to walk Mr. Puppy. Also, he's getting better on-leash (and WAY better off), so eventually I will be able to walk at a normal speed, rather than a crawl (silly puppy).

In other news, my knee injury is mostly healed. I'm the only person I know who regularly does dangerous activities and yet manages to injure herself in ballet class. Woo. Rock climbing, silks, aerial yoga, hiking, Spartan races... and what gets me? Ballet. Tweaked coronary ligament is mostly healed (I can bend my knee almost all the way, AND have weight on it!). Soon I hope to be at 100%.

I'm baaaaaaaack!

Wow, there is a lot of information here. I love animals, especially dogs. Raising a Puppy is something we have to go through to get a loyal and loving companion. Puppy's have charm all their own and can do hilarious things.

I can tell you that an injury can translate into a few pounds. With my bum ankle I have lost weight but I am sure that a lot mostly muscle.

I am glad your knee injury is on the mend. I would consider ballet an extremely dangerous activity. I am pleased your injury is not worse.

    Thanks, Bruce

awww what a cutie! My puppies would much rather cuddle on the couch or lay by the fire than go outside most days. Now that its getting nicer here in Wisco I'm going to start running outside so i think i iwll drag them with me. haha

How is your knee doing? I recently had a knee injury and now i'm having a hard time getting back to workouts. Are you experiencing that at all?
