More snow coming--and indoor walking

Tuesday, March 11, 2014

After two days of sunshine and temps in the low 40's, we've finally seen a little melting here in west Michigan. We've had 140 feet of snow so far this winter, which is a LOT more than usual.

But winter isn't gone yet. Several inches of snow are coming tomorrow and more again on Saturday. emoticon I've been doing lots of indoor walking, preparing and wishing for the day when the sidewalks aren't ice skating rinks any more. I know it's coming eventually, and I can't wait to put on my tennis shoes, put in my ear phones, and head out into the sunny outdoors. emoticon

Spring. Is. Coming! I just know it. 7 inches of snow last night and predictions (threats) of more on Sunday and Wednesday. Whew! emoticon

We were lucky where I am, all that snow went south and east of us. It was pretty cold out today, but since we didn't get any additional snow, I can't really complain.

Nothing like a winter in the midwest and this one has been brutal. We have had a lot of snow in Chicago. I actually got outside for a run last night with my running group and woke up to 4 inches of snow today! That was my first outside run since the Turkey Trot in November! So it has been the elliptical and treadmill for me and I cannot wait to get back outside either!

I love snow but we usually never see it and when it does come we look like crazy people getting excited because we get a .25 inch on the hood of our truck! LOL

Yep, 140 feet of snow. We get all that lake-effect snow----any system that comes across Lake Michigan dumps on us.

This area is SO beautiful---mainly 3 seasons of the year. Even the winters are pretty, unless you have to drive somewhere. And we don't usually have this much snow. Even though the evergreen trees look gorgeous with their new, fresh layer of snow, I'm still wishing for spring. emoticon

    140 feet? WOW. emoticon

We dodged the snow this time but I know we'll get some more before winter gives up and goes away. This stuff won't last long though, I know it!

I didn't have to wear boots the last few days and I was able to get outdoors for a decent walk; what a great feeling! We're heading to the Finish Line, it won't be much longer!!

We got teased a little the last couple of days! I haven"t been able to run outdoors since the middle of Dec. I tried to in January and almost got hit by a car because the roads are so narrow. I can't wait until the bike path is cleared so I can get out and run.

Pretty soon we will have the heat and wishing it were cold again...lol.
