HM training notes - Monday 5-miler

Unmotivated. Did not want to run today - anything could have kept me from my run (I almost started cleaning the bathroom, instead!) BUT.... I knew deep down that once I got out the door and put one foot in front of the other, it'd be ok. So I did it. Kinda cool, too, that the first song that started on my ipod was "Happy" - it definitely helped.

In theory, today was supposed to be a rest day, but my training days and rest days are pretty hit or miss lately depending on my subbing schedule, so if I'm not subbing - I run. Saturdays are my one sacred training day each week - other than that, anything goes.

I felt sluggish during most of my run (big surprise, based on my attitude out the door). But, what you know - once I finished the run - I felt GREAT!!! Now I'm ready to conquer the bathroom "guilt-free"!

Today's run stats: 5.01 miles in 46:39 with a 9:19 pace. Funny thing - I thought my pace was really slow, until I compared it with my past runs. Surprise, it was one of my faster paces lately.

    That's part of my motivation lately.... to feel that great feeling after I exercise. I feel like doing more like cleaning the house, if I will just make myself exercise first. It really changes everything.
