DASH Diet journey

I started the DASH diet a little over four weeks ago. I'm using the DASH Diet Weight Loss solution book as my basis. The first two weeks on the more extreme version were challenging at first, but they were right, it really helped cut my carb and sugar cravings. I've been on the "normal" version for the past two weeks.

After the first two weeks, I had dropped about 7 pounds, and my blood pressure had dropped down to 130. The next two weeks I've gained back a couple of pounds (after adding some carbs and fruit back in for the normal phase). My waist and tummy have definitely shrunk, and I am feeling stronger, so that part is good. I did attend three celebrations the last couple of weeks and indulged in cake at each, so that could be part of why a couple pounds crept back on. Today I am tracking my food so I can see where my calorie and sodium level really are - seeing if I am staying in the range I think I am.

I am still enthusiastic. I can see myself eating this way the rest of my life, and I am in this health thing for the long run, not just a weight loss spurt, so, so far so good!
