Beginning of a healthy me

Here I am again. A lot has happened since I last checked in. As the old saying goes, life goes on.... Dad passed away Sept. 23, 2011. We have also been faced with taking care of my father-in-law. He was diagnosed with dementia w/ lewy body. This is a bit more challenging. Enough on the whys I fell back into old habits. This is a new year and a new day. After having a scare back in July and ending up in the hospital for 4 days. My husband and I decided it was time to get serious about our health. We are traveling this new journey together. I've lost 10 lbs since my getting healthy journey started last month. I took the 30 day juice challenge 18 days ago and joined the YMCA so I can get out and walk. I am up to 1/2 mile some days 3/4 mile. I can ride the bike for 5 minutes without too much problems with my knees. Baby steps right... My next plan is to start water aerobics this week, continue with the juice challenge and making healthy choices when I do eat something. I am surprised that I'm not as hungry as I thought I would be. I have also noticed that I do not have to take the 40 mg of Nexium every day. I have been able to get by with 15 mg.

    A step at a time :) We didn't gain our weight overnight. The physical activity changes you are making are definitely the road to better health.
