Tasmanian Hospitality is Wonderful! Week 6 of our Virtual Trek!

Saturday, March 01, 2014

We have stayed in many beautiful places while visiting Tasmania, from modest hotels to Victorian mansions. This weekend we were lucky to find ourselves perched 160 metres above sea level at a luxurious hideaway nestled high on an 80 acre property overlooking Binalong Bay, Moulting Bay, Georges, Bay, St. Helens Island, and the Southern Ocean. The views of the ocean and the bush are spectacular.

Here at Bed in the Treetops B & B from high in the trees visitors can watch kookaburras, sea eagles, yellow-tailed black cockatoos, parrots, and rosellas. At night one can observe the ramblings of wallabies, possums, echidnas, and wombats. There are two luxurious open spa suites each with a private entry and a private sun deck. When morning comes the day is greeted in the upstairs Dining Room where a magnificent breakfast awaits. The hosts serve fresh home-baked bread, free-range eggs from chickens on the property and herbs fresh from the vegetable garden.

Then later in the afternoon tea is served or for new arrivals in early evening there are pre-dinner drinks and as they say, nibbles. What is not to like? Nearby there is swimming, SCUBA, boating, fishing, bushwalking, wine touring, golf, tennis, and scenic flights all waiting to be enjoyed. Or one can simply read a book or take a nap on the private deck and do nothing at all. The hospitality could not be any more gracious or relaxing. The scenery is soothing to one's soul. I may not ever want to camp again!
