Friday, February 28, 2014

This article links a number of new research studies to show how dangerous GMO's really are and that they do NOT feed the world.

Also, Food and Water watch has a couple of important issues where your support is needed. Please look at their website for details.

The real sleeper is the UN article they link to at the bottom. To feed the world the world NEEDS to encourage locally grown organic food! It's actually also an economic imperative! But it's only an imperative for actual breathing human beings....

Some have never known what garden fresh taste like because the food is bought at a store with all the taste grown out or from a can.

But then our dirt is probably a lot different than it was in the 40z, 50s, 60s, 70s!

My mother had a garden. As a kid I hated green beans ~ we had them so often. But I loved squash and fried green tomatoes and corn on the cob!

I don't seem to have a green thumb. I tried to grow tomatoes in a container. Will have to try again this year.

I'm more and more fretful about commercially available foods. I keep trying to find ways to coerce friends and family to grow things for me! I'd give it a shot myself if I had a place and the ability (neither of which I do).

I'm not sure I even trust our local CSA... but I think it's probably a far cry better than the grocery.

If you talk about this stuff in general public, they think you're some sort of freak.
Maybe our faulty nutrition has gotten in their brains so they can't identify what's good from what's outlandish.

    Outlandish... like the SAD.
