6 Week review

Wednesday, February 26, 2014

After a great loss 2 weeks ago that put me in the top 100 for the week, I maintained last week (expected after a big loss like that), and gained this week. I kind of really fell off the wagon. I apparently decided that since I was doing so awesome, I didn't need to track my food and could eat whatever I wanted. I ate everything offered (including valentines day chocolate), and bought cookie dough, and ate it all. Monday night, I made an apple pie (which was awesome, still pretty tart). I was good with serving sizes on the pie, but I like to put ice cream on top.

Last week's goals were a total bust. I didn't track my food. I didn't try to get to 7000 steps daily, and I didn't do the 30DS. Of course, I gained .7 pounds this week.

Starting today, I have new plans:
*7000 steps a day, no matter what.
*30DS every day, even if I have to do it at 10 at night.
*Track everything. I've even left space in my notebook for it.

Nutrition wise, I'm working on increasing my protein and increasing my fruits and veggies.

I did manage to get in 2 30DS sessions last week (wed and tues). I need to power through and finish this session so I can move on to some more of her DVDs (Like 1 week shred).

I have a couple of reasons for losing the weight.
1) Dragoncon in September. I want to look awesome and enjoy the weekend, even if there will be tons of walking. It'll be a lot easier if I don't weigh as much and don't take up as much room.
2) DH and I want kids. He wants them soon. I keep saying that I need to be healthy first. Even though I'm very low risk for most everything, I want to be a normal weight first, in the interest of the baby's health.
3) I have also never been a normal weight, always at the top of the charts in both height and weight as a kid. I went to college, immediately caught mono, and lost 10 pounds in a week. After recovering from mono, I proceeded to pack on the extra weight. Two summers later, I lost a lot, dropping to my pre-college weight. Work stress and injuries, along with roommate stresses later, brought all the weight back with friends this time. I hit my heaviest right after college (236). In grad school, I did a lot more walking with a lot less stress and lost about 30 pounds. Of course 20 of that came back. Now, I'm struggling to get the rest off. I'm going to start pushing myself harder and farther, and hope that it'll be enough.

Also, we're planning on getting a puppy. We've found a couple breeders, and one litter box trains them. That would make life so much easier for us on the days we're gone at work all day long. We would probably still work out a schedule so that the puppy wouldn't have to be inside all day, anyway. I can't wait until we have a dog that can take walks with me and encourage me. We also have a huge yard (for the city) that it can play in. Can you tell i'm excited?

Dragoncon sounds fun..Im aware of Comiccon and Santacon. Must be similar lol. My dog used to be trained to go in a box but I stopped it when she got older. Wish I hadn't because now as an adult dog of 13, she refuses to go in the box. We recently tried to retrain her. Just a warning if your pondering a Jack Russell. They are a handful! emoticon
