Out of the shadows, into the light

In 1975, I married a man who turned out to be an alcoholic. Since he was a Christian, I did not see the other side of
Two children and many years later, I was a depressed woman. I had ulcers, and felt stuck in a sad situation. In the middle of an angry fight, my husband said to me; "You are crazy. You should have your head examined!"
So I did. I found a counselor, and talked with him every week. I wrote in a journal every day. The more that I talked and wrote, the stronger and healthier I became. I went back to school and got my teaching degree.
When I divorced him, I wrote a letter that said:
Thank you Jim for breaking my heart. Because if this, I will become a healthy person, and my second marriage will be at least double what my marriage to you was.
Yes, I have received double for my trouble. It all started with a plan. I worked the plan, and God blessed the plan. The plan worked.
"Arise and shine for your light has come, and the Glory of the Lord is risen upon you."
Take time today to grow beyond who you were yesterday. ARISE and SHINE!
