Winnie the Pooh Wisdom

"You are BRAVER than you believe, STRONGER than you seem, and SMARTER than you think."

-Winnie the Pooh (emphasis mine)

Today, this quote has been ringing in my head like crazy. Self-esteem has been an issue ALL of my life, and the biggest part of that was that I was never willing to believe that I was capable of anything great. That sounds awful, and if I heard someone else saying it, I would be pretty alarmed, but it's SO true about me.

Lately, I'm feeling really STRONG and BRAVE, and SMART for so many reasons (oh, the modesty! :) ).

Today, I feel STRONG because I am pushing myself beyond what I ever thought capable, and every time I complete something (or modify it so that I can finish it).

Today, I feel BRAVE because as I achieve each small goal, I believe in myself a little more. I am starting to believe that I might just be brave enough to battle and win this huge fight ahead of me.

Today, I feel SMART because I am outwitting my own negative thoughts. I am proving all of those previous beliefs about my unworthiness and incompetence to be untrue.

I'm by no means "cured" or have it all figured out. I am just feeling a little boost of confidence today, and so I'm going to roll with it!

    Brava!!!!

Someone once told me that the word "esteem" is from the same root word as "estimate", and that they mean almost the same thing. So many times we underestimate ourselves! Glad you recognized your great character traits today!
