Day 53

Friday, February 21, 2014

My streak is still going. I've had a busy week with work, kids, and illness. I've had a bit of a sinus infection, but I think it's getting better. Tuesday and Thursday I rested quite a bit. I actually called in sick on Tuesday. I decided to stay home to get better and to keep an eye on Mary. On Monday, we had a bout of ice and snow. Our school system did not call a late start, nor did they think it was necessary to put salt or sand down in the parking lots. This was with snow on top of freezing rain. I got the call from my hubby that Mary fell on the ice, on her back! This is my girl who went to the hospital on a backboard Sept 2013 with a volleyball injury. Hubby ended up getting her checked out in the ER. I was working that day, so I made about 100 trips between the pharmacy and the ER. She's had new pain issues, but nothing showed up on the x-rays. Her back doctor is now getting her in next week. She'll probably need another MRI or some other scan to see if there's new damage. Poor thing is only 14, way too young to be dealing with pain like this.

They called school on Thursday. This was my day off. At first, I was frustrated, looking forward to a quiet restful day. The kids were fantastic helps all day and got a lot of laundry and cleaning done.

I'm feeling better, I think. I've gone on several walks this last week, probably more than I should have fighting this infection. The weather was nice on a couple of days. I've also managed to do weights three times this week, which is one of my goals. I'm still really anxious for Spring to get outside more.

This is getting pretty long. I hope you all have a good weekend.
