Have you seen that Geico commercial with the obnoxious camel? If not, check it out....I'll wait. See? Hilarious! That's exactly how I felt today. Thanks to the magic that is Benadryl, I was able to get a full night's sleep last night. I have been fighting a cold so, naturally, it has been almost impossible to sleep. I kept waking up every few hours because I couldn't breathe. But last night, finally, I got to sleep all night!
Today is day 20 of my 100 yoga challenge. I was inspired by the amazing stories at Give It 100. I figured if they can do it, so can I. Yoga is one of those activities that I love, but I feel is very difficult and frustrating due to my hip issues. I decided to work past that and focus on small improvements. I'm already starting to see changes.
The breathing techniques that I've learned in yoga have helped me to deal with my stress and anxiety. Today I was even able to ward off an anxiety attack in my cubicle by taking deep, relaxing breaths. I've also noticed that I'm walking along a little bit better. I know that I will never be able to fix my hips with just yoga, but any improvement at this point is a big deal! I'm hoping that by the end of this challenge, I'll be able to tie my own shoes like a normal person.
