Baby steps

It's good to be more mindful of things I do and eat. I am getting healthier and more fit every day with small changes, compromises, smart swaps, and little victories. My boyfriend is amazing because he backs me in everything I do, and volunteered to start running with me since it is FINALLY starting to warm up again.

Yesterday was low 60s and sunny, which was soooooooooo amazing after this crazy winter. We walked to a nearby park/trail, then ran a mile. It was slow, and very painful. Absurd how quickly you lose stamina. Nonetheless, we did it. And today I didn't feel as sore as I thought I would. It was cloudy and not as warm as yesterday, but I wanted to get out there again, so again we ran that mile around the park. And it was noticeably not as grueling as yesterday. I was still flushed, sore, and panting at the end, but I could tell the difference. No running tomorrow, for recovery.

But I also squeezed in some arm strength exercises and crunches. Had a big salad with romaine, spinach, and kale for lunch. Even had room left in the diet for a Reese cup treat at night with my green tea. Not bad. Still fluffier than I want to be by summer, but every small victory is celebrated. Hooray for two days of cardio in a row!

    Sounds like a fantastic way to enjoy the warmer weather! I can't wait until we start getting some nicer temperatures here.
