Attila the hunk?

Saturday, February 15, 2014

My darling husband knows I have a real addiction to movies and books. Lately I have been going on a real Jane Austen bender. That said, he got me Austenland (book & movie) and Midnight in Austenland (book) for Valentine's Day. I have watched Austenland 8 times in a row. He thinks I need to go to AA (Austen Annonymous).

Now I am going on a movie marathon of some of my favorite romantic titles. They are, for the most part, mindless fluff, but I love them!!

Sense & Sensibility
Pride & Prejudice (Matthew Macfayden is gorgeous!!)
The Decoy Bride (love David Tennant!!)
Lost in Austen
Little Dorrit
Sweet Home Alabama
The Wedding Date (Dermot Mulroney is SO amazing in this!!)
Kate & Leopold
Two Weeks Notice
While You Were Sleeping
Beautician and the Beast
French Kiss
Sabrina (original and remake)
Inventing the Abbotts
Thank Thing You Do!
The Lake House
Music & Lyrics
The Englishman who went up a hill but came down a mountain
Just Visiting
Alice (Not quite romantic, but Hatter is so hot!)

And...of course Austenland about 100 more times because it is so adorable and then ending makes me swoon!!!!

That said, we have an awful movie channel here called Movieplex. Plays really old or just plain awful movies. There is one showing later on this week called "Attila" and it is a ROMANCE?!?! Um....ok.
Attila IS quite a hunk, so perhaps I will watch....

Matthew Macfayden is my very favorite Mr Darcy. That scene near the end where he is walking to Elizabeth across the moors with his shirt open, his coat flying behind him - best scene ever!

I love to read and watch old movies! I got a tablet just after Christmas and am now addicted to the Free books that are offered by Kindle. I love Jane Austen, especially Pride and Prejudice! Hubby and I don't go to the movies so any movies I watch have to be on DVD or TV. We don't subscribe to any movie channels, so it's hit and miss for good movies here!

I love Jane Austen - and check out Minnie Driver and Rupert Everett in "An Ideal Husband" - it's Oscar Wilde but feels almost like Jane Austen writing a mystery!
