Lots of excitement in our family!
WE are going out on Date night! - with a difference.
We want to teach our kids EARLY on how to treat each other and future partners.
I am taking my son out and he will practice being a gentleman, we will go to the the same restaurant, but have separate tables! My husband is taking my daughter and will treat her like a princess.
I told him to set the bar HIGH so that when she eventually has boys interested in her, she will not settle for second best but know how she should be treated! ( HIS PANICKED REPLY: She is not getting boyfriends for another 10 years! )
She is almost a teenager- wishful thinking buddy! LOL
My son is all excited to be the gentleman, but he did ask if he HAD to put his pinky up if we had tea! LOL! I said no, he did not have to! HAHA! He told me he knows how to be a gentleman, so we will see.....
Now in 20 years my husband and I have never really celebrated valentines. Flowers are more expensive and restaurants are crowded, but I really felt strongly that we needed to make this memory for the kids now while they still wanted to hang out with us.
Yesterday was the 13th day I have been following "the Plan" and since I did not have some of the ingredients to do day 13 went back and did day 6 ( I think) - where you test a protein.
I tested Haddock and I am happy to say I was down 0.8 this morning! Whoo hoo! I was getting sick of chicken!
I had a smoothie for breakfast! UGH! It is just so hard to chug that sludge down!
Then this was lunch:
Broccoli soup and salad with goat's cheese
dinner was :
Good news, I managed to find Manchego at the store last night!
So today I am doing day 18 on the menu since we will be going to the restaurant for Valentines. I will have to go back to the book and read up on how to approach that.
Have a wonderful day today. Know that you are valuable and worth it, valentine's day or not!
I had some baked haddock with sauteed Kale and onion and garlic on a bed of romaine.
