Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and it's going to require some serious will power. My 4th grade class is having a HUGE Valentine's Day party with cookies, cupcakes, juice, candy, chips, brownies, you name it. I was trying to convince some of them to bring fruits or veggies, maybe some crackers so we don't all have tummy aches from too many sweets, but from their reaction I don't think that's likely... They wanted to bring soda but I put my foot down on that one, although Capri Sun and Gatorade won't be far off on the sugar level. Oh well... I'm going to tell myself "that is prue sugar and not even a good cupcake." Which honestly usually the ones kids bring into school are actually kinda gross. Super cheap tasting. I guess that fact that I know the difference between a crappy cupcake and a delicious one is progress in itself right?
To prepare for tomorrow's insane amount of sweets and Valentines I did a longer BodyRock video today. Lisa Marie's Real Time Chalenge Day 5. It was pretty hard and I know I'll be feeling it tomorrow. Hey maybe the soreness be a reminder and help me not indulge in too many sweets. Unfortunately I probably only burned off the m&ms I ate earlier, but something is better than nothing.
Next year I'll try to only allow one sweet and encourage them use their imagination with foods to make them holiday-y Jello shaped hearts, halve strawberries into hearts etc.
