My Unexpected Week

Thursday, February 13, 2014

This week has certainly been unusual. I went to my daughter's house to watch Hannah there on Monday so that DH could study. At 4 p.m., the area schools announced that they would be closed on Tues. due to bad weather. So, I went back home Mon. night to grab a few things since we didn't know if DD would have work the next day. We woke up to gorgeous weather on Tuesday! But, temps started dropping and there was ice everywhere! At 10:30 p.m., the electricity went out! It was freezing in the house. Thank God I had spent the night because DD went out the freezing weather to the storage shed to get a propane heater. She finally found one container of propane. It went out during the night, so she went to Walmart before work and bought a bunch of containers. So, yesterday, I spent all day in a bedroom with a 2 year old. She was really good and we played a bunch. The electricity finally came on today! I've spent all week at her house. Her husband's out of town, so it's worked out good.
I have missed "sparking" SSSOOO much! My computer and phone died! It was the first time since I started SP in May, 2013, that I didn't track. Anyway, I was absolutely shocked when I read my emails today. I'm a Teddy Bear in the 5% challenge. I was Teddy Bear of the day. And then, (drum roll please) I was voted a SP motivator. Thank you all so much for voting for me!! It is such an honor and means a lot to me. Words can't describe how happy that makes me. When I joined in May, it took me about a month before I got brave enough to write a blog or join teams. I never dreamed how important (and fun) it has become. I enjoy all of the teams I'm on. I don't think I'm on any that I originally started out with because I didn't "click" with them. But, I have met so many awesome people on the teams. Then, I started Hopeful Hearts in October. I never imagined how much I'd love my HH family. We have great, caring leaders, and I feel like we really are a family. Again, thank you for your support.
