Dear Mother Nature.

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

I just wanted to voice my opinion of the weather we are having right now. I know it is still winter so I am not asking that the temperature should be mid 70’s or 80’s and sunny. I fully like our changing seasons in Cincinnati. I love snow and even go out to play with the kids in the snow and tube or sled and have fun. What I do not like however are low single digit temperatures where even a light breeze makes me feel i have taken up residence in the freezer in the basement.

I will complain if the temps are in the mid 20’s but honestly, it isn’t so bad. It would probably even feel balmy compared to this morning. I was looking at the temp gauge in my car this morning. It never did officially make it out of the cold engine temp zone during my entire 20 minute trip to work. Now, I ask, is that fair? It doesn’t seem fair to me. We have winter coats here, but not like they do in Fargo, because we rarely get that cold. We just aren’t as equipped for this as they are in the northern areas.

And I haven’t even started on how extra cold those of us who might be losing weight feel. Our internal heaters don’t work as well and this cold is really making some of us miserable. When it is 20 outside some of us feel like its 0. I won’t complain about that. But maybe please just let it get back to “normal”

If it is a matter of needing to pay the energy bill, I don’t have much extra, but if I can donate a little to Mother Nature’s Heat the World Fund and the heat would be turned back on, I would be glad to donate to get the outside temperature raised an extra 10 degrees or so. I know it can’t be cheap to heat the world, so let me know where to send the check.

Well, I know you are busy so I won’t take up more of your time. Have a great day, I hope it is warmer for you than it is for me.

I do have one question, once I send the check, is the thermostat adjusted right away, cause my toes feel like icicles.

That's how it was last week here and we definitely aren't used to it. But today it was warm enough for me to just wear a sweater to work. It's been a really wacky winter here. Hope you warm up soon!

    BRRR! This made me laugh.
But seriously, we all have weather and must learn to cope.
We have rain where I am, so it really affects my being able to exercise in my "gym" (the great outdoors). So I am having to adjust to Mother Nature and exercise inside today. I don't do as well with this as outside, but I will make do so I can progress with my goals. Keep on keepin' on!

I hear ya! I'm in west central Illinois and we're having the cold. We have been having water main breaks and Sunday, the entire town didn't have water until yesterday.
