Thought and Prayer for Tuesday, February 11, 2014

Most people fear death. When they hear bad health news about not having much time to live, it awakens their minds to what all they will miss on earth. When they face a life or death situation, they may panic and their lives will flash before their eyes. However, death is not the end. It is the beginning of a new life either in heaven or hell. When we are saved, we no longer fear death but look forward to a new and glorious place God has prepared for us. Every day we can ready ourselves by dying daily to the things of the world and living only for God so we will have courage to be transformed to our new bodies.

1 Corinthians 15:51 “But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed!” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we come to You today to thank You for the new bodies you are preparing for us. We know we have work to do for You while we are here on earth but we also know You are preparing new bodies for us and these dying bodies will be gone. Give us the courage we need and prepare us to be ready to leave this earth when You are ready for us to go. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

We can have courage to die when we put our trust in Jesus.

Death is not the end. It is the beginning of a new life in Christ if we are believers.

We don’t have to fear death because of the new life God has planned for us.

Dying to self and living for God will better prepare us when we leave this earth.

Our temporary earthly bodies will one day be gone and we will have new bodies that will live forever!

2 Corinthians 5:4 “While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life.” (NLT)
