Finally got a gym membership!

Monday, February 10, 2014

emoticon It's been a long time coming but I finally took the plunge! I am so excited to finally have a gym membership and the best thing is that it is only 4 blocks from my house!

emoticon It's not a big chain but it does its job. They have all the machines. A large area for free weights, at least 15 treadmills, 4 ellipticals and an aerobics room where they teach different types of classes. All in all it serves it's purpose.

emoticon My first day was Saturday and I knew I had to take it easy since I haven't exercised in years, plus I had three events to attend that evening and had to keep it short. So 30 min the treadmill (walking fast), 15 on the bike and then I made sure that I danced as much as I could at 2 of the 3 events that I attended that night. I had fun at the gym and a great night overall. That is, until 3am when all hell broke lose and I lost my cookies...(to be polite) I was sick all day Sunday, weak as a day old foal, with a fever of 102 that I could barely lift my head to sip water...

emoticon Monday morning - there was no way I was going to be able to go to work I was still feeling the effects of no food and not enough fluids as well as fighting the fever all night. By 11 am I was able to get out of bed and make myself an egg with a slice of bread. By 2 I was starting to cook dinner and by 5 pm I dragged my recuperating behind back to the gym, swearing I was not going to push myself too hard, yeah right... I spent 50 min on the treadmill, 10 on the elliptical and started working on some of the machines. Can't wait for tomorrow! One of these days I am going to attend one of the classes they offer, most likely Zumba!!! lol

Here is a picture of the future old me:

Although I have grown to love her, hopefully this will be the last I see of her!♥

Love, the future me!♥OX emoticon
