My husband has his back surgery tomorrow morning early a.m. He can't wait -- wants to walk out of the hospital tomorrow afternoon pain-free, so keep good thoughts.

I had a skin procedure on Wednesday (middle-aged fair-skinned women out here get lots of "ak"s -- precancerous lesions -- even with daily sunscreen. Hazards of good weather and not enough sunscreen as kids. Remember Coppertone tanning lotion?? NOT!) that leaves the skin photosensitive for a few days. So, I've been pretty housebound, other than a trip over the hill yesterday to check out the site for The Boy's wedding rehearsal dinner. Result: not enough steps, and, although I was down to that lowest-weight point yesterday (up and down -- down), after eating a sample lunch and having a couple of beers, I don't dare step on the scale today for fear of discouragement.

Today, I an leave the house with impunity (assuming that I wear sunscreen), and so we are doing some pre-surgery shopping -- getting pet food and a few things the the refrigerator. Gotta go to the office and return the ton of files that I worked on over the past few days. Am sure to get in some steps today.

I did dance all over the house, and jumped on the mini-tramp one day -- got in lots of steps that day -- I'll do some more of that while the banana bread is in the oven later this afternoon.

Have a great rest of your weekend!

Good luck and speedy recovery to your DH - and would a hat and/or parasol help with sun protection? (I do a hat in hot climates since I sweat off the sunscreen so quickly)

Sending well-wishes your way tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by my Sat blog. My weekend indulgence was Chinese takeout. I did spread it out over two meals and added no soy sauce since two of my teams were tracking sodium.

Marcy mini pedal exercise cycle: Impex Fitness Products model NS-912
I originally got it to use it under my desk at work, but then realized I sync at home after work or the gym so if I'm short on steps it serves me better to have it at home.
The mini tramp sounds fun! emoticon

Best wishes for your DH!! I hope he gets his wish.

Good luck to you too. I never thought about dancing to get steps. On a Beatles day like today, that is especially appropriate.

Good luck to your husband, I hope everything goes well tomorrow!

I used to work with a woman who had been one of the Hawaiian Tropic models back in the 80s I think...all young, blond, buxom and with extremely dark tans. By the time I worked with her in 2004 she had already been through skin cancer treatments a few times and was going through another. Her skin, needless to say, was pretty damaged. I've never gone out of my way to either cover up or maintain that kind of tan, but sometimes I worry a bit about all the exposure and sunburns from when I was a kid.
