Spark People

Sunday, February 09, 2014

I started SparkPeople on August 10, 2011. I was going through my Spark Teams this morning and decided to see how many people from the Class of "August 7-13, 2011" are still around. There are so many people who haven't been on in over 900 days. That's a shame. How do you tell someone who is just joining about all the benefits of SparkPeople? I suppose that's our job in "spreading the spark" to tell them about all the information, videos, trackers, and most of all, the support here on SparkPeople.

So please welcome any new people here and let them know what is available to them!

How does the saying go...when the student is ready, the teacher appears. The site works when a person is ready to do the work. That's my opinion! Rachel

I agree, but I joined a lot of other fitness sites before this one became my permanent one. Maybe they tried it and it just didn't jive well. If so I hope they find one that fits their needs. If not, I hope they find their way back.

I've honestly never understood joining a team and then never doing anything with the team. No huddle, no how you doing. Admittedly, when I first joined I didn't do much either. I didn't know my way around. Didn't understand how to do things. Didn't hear much from other team members. Hmmm, I may have just answered my own question. These things are also why I reach out to new members. Send them a greeting and a Sparkgoodie. I still don't know how to of some things, but at least, I reach out.

I agree Debby .......... For a while, I sent notes to new members, welcoming them and telling them of many of the features ............ I was also disappointed as maybe one out of several responded ............. had even said, "would love to help as you have Q.s .............. Not sure what else to do but I do agree welcoming is the thing to do regardless.

I think it is sad when you are starting to get to know someone, or have been friends for awhile, and then they just are gone.
I am so glad that you are still here with us!

emoticon I have seen many come and go. I often wonder how they are and what they are up to. I have always found you very supportive as a spark team leader as well as spark motivator. emoticon
