Day 504: There is Nothing in a Caterpillar

We face many challenges every day of our lives. How we approach them is how far we will come. But our biggest obstacle isn't so much everything around us, as it is us. Can we pick ourselves up after a bad day or days? Can we make sure that our goals meet what we want to accomplish at the moment. We too often tend to look at the big picture, and the end of the tunnel, and forget that it takes little changes, little goals to get us there. Some people can accomplish this in 3 months, others 3 years, but that doesn't matter. We all are striving for a similar thing, to be healthier, happier, and proud to look in the mirror everyday. To inspire others even if it is just our children we inspire to be healthier. We often compare our progress to someone else, but the real thing is we should not. We should compare it to our own over time. Comparing ourselves to others is what can often get us off the right road and on to the wrong one. Just because someone else has lost inches faster, or pounds faster, or could run a 5k months before you could doesn't mean you can't or never will. It just means that you really want to do that as well. What we need to look at is how did they do it, did they have people helping them or instead of hurting their journey, do they carry they're weight differently, is their metabolism different, etc. We are all different, and need to relish in this wonder. No one can lose weight the same way, and some just take a little longer to come out of their cocoon than others. But that makes you just as special as everyone else.

We got these things called challenges, sometimes we are ready for them sometimes we are not.

But we need to face them, to over come them. Yes there will be bumps in the road too. But I figure this, every bump, every challenge just makes us stronger.

to continue on this journey. There's weeks, or even months we just completely plateau. But should we give up. Of course not, as long as we are trying we are making changes to our health. The scale isn't the only number to go by. What about how you feel, your energy, your ease to make better choices, and any other non scale victory known to Spark People world. See here's the thing:

But if we do not try, will we succeed, or will we stand still? I like trying much better, at least that means I am moving forward. No matter how slow it may be I am still

We must have faith in our abilities. We must believe in ourselves to succeed in every possible way we can. Because we can, and we will.
