Ahead of schedule.... :-)

Friday, February 07, 2014

My entry-level goals seem to be doing the trick...not only am I on track, I am ahead of schedule and starting to think about my next steps. As of yesterday, I met all of my goals, so will press on and become an official overachiever by the time Sunday rolls around emoticon

An old trick I learned from an SP friend works wonders - I have a sticky note on my computer with my main goals....each day I tick off what I've done....it both reminds me and motivates me....

So bear with me....I know these are just normal, mini goals...but posting those little emoticon symbols gives me a lot of satisfaction:

* 2 litres of water per day minimum emoticon
* 3-4 30 minute walks emoticon
* Dare I add some abs, 2 times this week???? emoticon
* Maaaaaybe drop 2-3 lbs in water weight, if I focus.... emoticon
* Weigh-in on Thursday emoticon
* AF emoticon

I had been aiming to reach the middle of my weight range in time to start the next Maintainer Challenger on February 17th - but as of yesterday, I'm already there. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Will throw in an extra cardio session or 2 (hey, it's just brisk walking, so I can manage ;-), and think about my goals for next week. Already I know they will include:

* 2 litres of water per day minimum
* 4 30-45 minute walks, including HILL work
* 2 x Abs AND some squats & lunges for good measure (lets say 3 sets, 10 reps of 3 exercises to start)
* Weigh-in on Thursday

* This means regular meal times, balanced meals and no random consumption of cookies and chips (ugh....I would NEVER let my kids eat the way I eat... emoticon

And one last note - I learned a few big lessons this week.

1) I NEED to get my heart rate up on a daily basis - it literally flips the switch on my moods and can turn the day around completely.

2) Getting outside is the best option whenever possible.

3) My days are unpredictable and being flexible about when and how I exercise is key...if I wait until circumstances are 'perfect', it will NEVER happen.

    emoticon Mimi - so great to get ahead with your goals. I've given up junk food too - only one small cookie this last week when I had a weak moment.

    Those are very good lessons. So true . . . we need to be flexible and have a plan B. I was proud of myself this morning. I could have blown off exercise when I couldn't do my normal spin class (got there late & no bikes left), but instead I went home & put did a step dvd. Actually enjoyed doing something different & was probably good that I was shaking things up! Love your goals!!! And you're meeting all of them . . . way to go!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon
