how am I doing?

Well its been about When a month since a posted my New Years goals, Time to see how I am doing, When I consider its only been a month since I started I believe I am doing pretty well. I find myself slimmer than I have been in some time. Weight loss began in mid Oct. , two weeks before I got my barriatric sleeve. I am down 85 pounds. Pretty good, Still I weigh 265 more than I would like to. More importantly I need to work on fitness. I can walk better than I used to, but I
need to do better to begin to enjoy life better. My goal there is to be able to simply walk around for an hour with out the need ti sit. Although I can do a 45 minute fitness class, I cannot just walk for 10 minutes. I've done much to get my house ready to sell in Pa. I've only been there for about a week in the pat month. I will do more when the weather clears, Right as for my new Virginia home, I am having a bathroom installed. When that's done I can really start making progress. No progress with either storytelling or writing but I am hoping to go to a writing class at the Senior Center. I have one to church and an attended an Alzheimer support group and men's bible study. Lots of opportunities to get needed services,

I guess I am doing pretty good. For now I need concern myself with a healthier life style, finding a new life for myself and making my living space better.

Soon I must officially become a Virginian see what doctors and services both myself and my wife can use,

    Thanks for sharing your update. I am sure that as time goes by and the weight continues to slip away, you will find you are able to do more and more. Different activities require different kinds of fitness and maybe you will find walking for shorter periods will help you build the strength to walk for longer ones.

    Bob, it sounds like you are making fantastic progress on you list of goals. Good for you!! You also have plans in place for meeting the rest of them. I understand what you mean about walking for any time period. The same thing happened to me when I first started some exercise. I could "dance" in my house for 20-30 minutes, but walk any distance? No! I finally used a SP walking plan--there are all kinds of them available. They helped me work up my endurance a lot. Unfortunately, I am now dealing with back issues and sciatica, so my endurance has all but disappeared. Anyway, good work on your part and emoticon emoticon emoticon
