Wading through the muck

Thursday, February 06, 2014

Here in Alaska we have a slightly different name for spring. We call it Breakup. When it finally arrives around late April we are all delighted with the lovely little green leaves sprouting all over the place. But if you look down, you discover all the "stuff" that was hiding in the snow all winter. It's icky and grimy and mucky and just plain nasty.

Why am I talking about Breakup when it's still so far away? Because it reminds me of where I am in my counseling sessions. I have worked my way through my immediate anger with my older sibling over an issue that I should have floated past a couple of years ago, and now find myself slogging through the mire of my ongoing depression, and where exactly that came from.

Yes winter in the north is harsh and cold, but it hides an awful lot of crud, too.

We are feeling your crud and much here in PA, and a lot of the lower states here too! Its a real mess all over!

Great analogy, keep working on cleaning the depressing muck out and visualize the beautiful, clean, white happiness that can be there in stead.

Our issues are never because of another even if they indeed act from insanity and fear. We are responsible for our experience of them. Until we see this we will continually have people in our lives reflecting the problem we cling to.

Hoping you get the crud out of your life long before Breakup arrives. HUGS!
