How is Your Winter?

Thursday, February 06, 2014

I was just thinking, it seems like this winter just doesn’t want to quit. I would sure like to it to be over and spring began, I am more than ready for it. In the winter season things begin to die. It makes us sad to see the flowers and trees die, they were so beautiful.

But there were also things growing that there not good, like the weeds. In the dead of winter there is no life, and that’s good for the weeds, bugs etc. Do we have any weeds in our garden? Let those things remain dead that were not good.

'Hebrews 12:1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us '

Now lets looking it this way. There are things that are good in our life that sometimes begin to die out if we do not cultivate them. Prayer, the Word, worship, ministry will die if we do not contintaully tend to them. Come alive, awake to the things of the Spirit, the things of God

Let those things that are not like God to die out but let him birth forth the fruit of HIS Spirit when spring comes.

'Galatians 6:8Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.'

'Ephesians 5:14Therefore he says, Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.'

nice, and insightful analogy. yet I don't think of winter as a time when the world is dying. It is a time when the world rests, and is hibernating. just like in spring, it is wakened, and renewal. eva

This is all true but in my selfishness, I still want the 4 feet of snow in my front yard to melt. My Christmas decorations are under there somewhere. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Our winter set all time records for lows and snows. Yet, save a few bad days with my bursitis, I really had an excellent winter because we had a lot of SonShine. The dogs I have loved the winter now and I guess their warmth gave me more SonShine.

Such a great and needful teaching. We must reach towards LIFE and remove all the dross away. The thing is that we are not alone and God has given us His Spirit to HELP us and GUIDE us. We truly have no excuse when we cling to what is dead. Christ made us alive in Him. Thus we should continually live in His Spirit and eat the Food that brings abundant life! Thank you so much for that motivation. It's a blessing!
    God Bless You!

It's reported many areas that this Winter is one of the Coldest and Snowiest in many years. I'm in TX and the temps are in the teens and bitter cold! Keeps me inside from walking.
