Another Medical Malfunction... as usual

Wednesday, February 05, 2014

Okay... here's today's medical malfunction for me. My thyroid is evidently failing, but he says it has nothing to do with the cyst that was found in an MRI last January. So I am being put on a low dose of Synthroid for 6 weeks to see if it helps any. If not, they operate and do whatever, but I told him I didn't want to hear about all that just yet - stopped him dead in his tracks. The good news is that my cholesterol has dropped 46 points since last year's blood work. So that is normal and I don't have to worry about it anymore. After reading the tiny print on drug interactions, this may cause my antidepressants and sleeping pill to become toxic and possibly deadly. It's a dang good thing I took the time to read the ENTIRE tiny print that comes in a small book inside the package.

I have my endometrial ablation procedure on the 19th of this month. And I am still looking at being burdened with a cast and/or boot for 12 weeks. I may have also broken a small bone in front of my toes when I fell the night we came home from the hospital. Doc says there is no way the incision in my ankle to take out the arthritis and replace the tendons would make my toes swell and turn green. So I guess I did an oops when I fell and couldn't find my leg!!! (Pain blocks can be DANGEROUS!)

And I took my Daddy with me as backup in case I started crying because I told the nurse (I adore her) that if I got pissed or started to cry, just go in the lobby and ask for "Daddy" and he'd be right in to fix my doc's butt. But he was nice today and actually looked me in the eyes and took the time to not be an arse. I told him that I was glad we had this convo because I had every intention of walking out of here, requesting my records and never looking back. So NOW, he gets it. And he knows I am a medical misfit so wherever I go, so does a lot of money!

Hugs to all. Be blessed, and sleep tight!

ALWAYS read the small print - and do your own research. If I had years ago, I might have caught on that the little mixture of anti anxiety drugs I was on was extremely toxic to my liver!!!! Thus, my health battles!!! And don't ask about suing.....the doctor that originally put me on the meds never took a baseline liver function test (a must when prescribing these types of drugs I am now told) to see if it was okay to start me on the drugs to begin with......Anyways, you continue to kick butt when it comes to your doctors - you are and always will be your best advocate when it comes to your health!!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Dr.'s don't knock Dick about medicines, they get maybe one year training on them -good on you looking it up -but to make it easy ask your pharmacist -they have to go through five years training, and you should always get stuff from the same one so they know what you are on.
So you hurt yourself again :( Padded room coming up!!!
Try to take care of yourself better!!
