My Miraculous? TV

Yes. I was beginning to think either my TV was miraculous or I (?) was. It happened almost every time I was watching TV. It got much worse when I started watching the food channel. My weight seemed to be increasing too. What do I mean “starting” to be increasing – it really was.
The problem (or miracle) was that whenever some tasty food, like steak or bacon or pizza (my weakness!) appeared on the screen I could SMELL it! The better and longer the tempting fragrance lingered the more I seemed to be hungry and want to go find something to eat. Well. I often did just that and that solved the “miraculous” weight gain!
Whenever I mentioned this “wonderful” talent (read “problem”), my friends thought I was fooling and, then finally that I was really getting a bit nuts. It was mentioning it to a young physical therapist that solved the miracle for me. He said that my memory and sense of fragrance seemed to be strongly connected. When a food that triggered memory appeared, I remembered the delicious taste and its fragrance and that memory stimulated the delicious aromas.
Well, that was an answer to the fragrance. I was beginning to believe the presentation of the smell of food was some sort of new subliminal experiment being tried on various channel subscribers.
Now the problem remaining was how to resist the mouth watering smells and to remember that I am not hungry. I’m really not. Really . . .
