I have been doing some serious soul searching lately trying to identify one bad habit I would like to break. I decided that speed eating is my biggest problem. So began my Phases journey. This has been the hardest thing I have done in a long time with regards to my weight loss journey. But the effort has been a blessing.
At the beginning of this week, I implemented some ideas to help me establish that my plan for breaking the cycle of speed eating was the BEST and RIGHT choice for me. Here are the things I implemented this week:
Use SLUG CLUB to help me develop the habit of using the Eat Slow app during one meal per day
Use Walker Tracker to its full potential. I am involved in a Million Steps each quarter challenge. So far this quarter I have walked 266,963.
The competition ends March 31. What does this mean? To hit 1,000,000 steps by March 31st, I need an average of 12,000 steps per day. This is doable:)
Use the No S Habitcal. I started No S on January 13th.
Look at all that green
This means that I have had 3 good weeks on No S...going for the month of February to be green too!!!
Looking back over the past four weeks, I can safely say that I am better off now than I was four weeks ago. I am down 3 pounds since starting No S. I do eat slower and I have found I am eating less!
The big Aha moment for me was when Hm Annie suggested that I do something different with my eating, it all seemed to click into place. I became open to change and God let me know that He wanted me to try No S again. Let me say, I have never been happier with my eating plan. Drinking water and getting five servings of fruits and veggies is doable...easy in fact. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me...I am a believer. I have tried No S in the past with dismal results.
The other BIG Aha moment was when I realized I am challenge driven. I want points, give me points. I know this sounds crazy, I am 53 years old. But if I can earn points for doing the dishes...poof the dishes are done. Points, you say for vacuuming and poof...the carpet is done!...Let me earn points for cardio and ST and now I am moving like never before
