Rough month

Friday, January 31, 2014

January is always the hardest month for me. It is just so cold that I can barely get outside except for essentials. It also gets dark early still too. I know I COULD have done my exercising INDOORS. It's my own fault. I'm not hitting my fitness goal for the month and I know it. I'm mad at myself.

I hope to do better the rest of the year. That's all I can say. There are 11 months left of 2014. Hope they are good ones.

It's so hard when you can't hibernate...every day we are closer to spring. You can do this! Let January go and attack February!!! We've got to get fit to cheer our Sox on to the Series again!!!

Did you do better than last January or the year before that?

I keep a simple Excel record and update that at the end of every month with days, miles, minutes. I try to beat a number! Compare the month to the accomplishments of other years. I did better than January of 2011 when I only fitness walked for 3 days out of the month; therefore, I give myself credit for beating a number. I will give myself credit if I do better in February as compared to this month --- I beat a number!

I give myself many opportunities to see progress so I can celebrate my changes over the long haul.
