Home for the weekend

Monday, January 27, 2014

I had a great time this weekend visiting friends from my old stomping grounds and celebrating my niece's birthday. One of my friends had a baby girl about six months ago, so I got to meet her little angel for the first time. She's soooo cute! I was lucky that she was in good spirits while I was there, so I got to hold her and make her laugh. Is there anything better than a chubby baby laughing?

Celebrating my bestie's birthday and my niece's 11th birthday were a lot of fun, too. I have to say, though, that the change in eating habits definitely caught up with me last night. I did my best to watch portions and to make sure to order healthier foods, but I think eating restaurant food for two days straight was just way too much for my body to handle. So yeah, that part wasn't so fun, but I'm back on track today and feeling much better.

I'm so grateful that I got to visit with friends and catch up, and that my friendships are the kind that distance doesn't change.

Babies, travel and friends...all good ways to feed yourself with what you need! It's also amazing how a few meals can really seem like too much food now. Way to go, Rachel

Boy, ain't it the truth - I had a couple meals in a row out over the weekend, since I was out of town, and bleeeeah. As for your friends, yay! I had that experience recently, had dinner with a friend I hadn't seen in years, and although I'd been a little nervous about it we picked up right where we left off. Love those kind of friendships!!!
