Still remains a secret.

I love my man to pieces. He is nearly gluten free by default. I have to avoid gluten. I cook. Therefore if he wants gluten he eats out, or has some of his personal stash.
The best part of him (well, one of the best parts) is he is willing to try new things. Last week, we had Monterey Jack soup. OK, but not fantastic. I froze 2 pints, and tore up the recipe.
Today, I used that soup as a 'base' and added 2 large onions, caramelized, leftover carrots, and a bit of garlic. Then I used an immersion blender, leaving small chunks of the veggies. (This was after it had been in the crockpot for hours.) Last, I sautéed some turkey kielbasa and added it to the soup. His reaction? He loved it! We need to have more of this!! Yeah, now reread the part where I ripped up the recipe for the Monterey Jack soup that I used for a base.
Tomorrow I guess I need to search the internet for that recipe while I still have a clue what some ingredients were. It was much healthier today.

    My wife says that you can combine steamed califlower with the cheese and thin if necessary with milk or unsalted broth to make a base. Change this as needed to more closely repeat the former recipe. emoticon

    Now I know that if you are a cook and have begun making soup regularly, you can recreate that soup base. I never have been known to make anything the same way twice anyway. emoticon
