I am sick!!!!

Friday, January 24, 2014

Oh my word. I have a terrible cough, stuffy/runny nose (yes it is possible to have both), and a fever. This is always the time of year that I get a cold that develops into pneumonia. I am nervous. I have been doubling my vitamins and tripling my vitamin C intake. I think I'll make a smoothie I can't taste tonight for dinner. I tried a home remedy with warm almond milk and turmeric powder. It worked pretty well for about 20 minutes then the cough attacks came back. Some child of mine stole my honey!!! So there goes the apple cider vinegar and honey remedy!!! I love my children =) When I need something it never seems to be where I put it. LOL!! I dreamed last night of running on my treadmill and then I woke up and realized it's just not practical as my coughing is terrible. This is putting a damper in my exercise regime. But I guess these setbacks will happen from time to time.

On a good note my seeds I have been germinating in paper towels have started sprouting. The dragonfruit, aloe, orange carrots, some kind of san something cactus, black and red tomatoes, and blueberries all got transferred into pots today. I just started the roses to germinate today and the passion fruit, mini dragonfruits, grapefruit, lemon, and red and yellow bell peppers. So I get to look forward to them germinating in 10 to 15 days.

I just think its a shame to have a 1/3 acre yard and not do anything with it. I am going to have to get manure and rototill the yard so I can make rows and transplant the trees and veggies. The soil in new mexico lacks organic matter and nitrogen. I have lots more I am gonna plant too. 4 different kinds of watermelon, honeydew, star fruit, brussel sprouts, asparagus, onion, purple tomatoes, squash, artichokes etc. Really excited about gardening this year. We haven't enjoyed our backyard for the whole 2 years we have been in this house. It's a blank canvas right now and I can't wait to turn it into a masterpiece!

Thank you for reading and sharing my woes and excitement for the week. =)
