It's the little things

Wednesday, January 22, 2014

I am only a few days back into my healthy journey, but I am feeling motivated and great! I haven't been hungry nor craved chocolate or cookies that I have been engulfing over the holidays. This time around, I want to make it stick, so I am keeping my motivation up by rejoicing in the little things each day that are making me smile.

1. Multicolored markers - I bought a dry erase board to plan my meals and workout schedule because I need to see the big picture of how it all fits together. And, by planning ahead, I am creating healthier meals instead of throwing things together at the last minute, usually resulting in a carb fest. I am having way too much fun coordinating my meatless, red meat, and white meat/seafood meals with the various colors.

2. Smoothies - I had my first green smoothie. It was delicious. That is all.

3. Poached eggs - nothing is better than eggs for breakfast on the weekend. However, boyfriend likes to fry them up to the point where I can feel them coating my insides. Gross...and I wonder how I gained all this weight. I poached an egg this morning for oil required! It was absolutely delicious, especially with a piece of wheat toast, steamed spinach and feta cheese. I followed these directions, including the vinegar (I used red wine) and the mason jar rim trick:

4. Zumba - Probably the best video game I ever bought. I love it for the wii, and I got the newest one for Christmas. It was so much fun to mix up the routines a bit and learn new steps, especially because I had the dances from Zumba 2 memorized...However, the people are a bit more realistic in Zumba 4, almost to the point of being creepy...

Keep the little things close to your heart as you work on bettering yourself, whether it be a weight loss journey, gaining muscle, running a marathon, cooking healthy meals, or whatever you want to change! Remember it is the little steps, and little things, that will carry you to the end!

That's great! Zumba is my favorite exercise class! I'm trying to focus on the little things too, one day at a time! Keep it up!

I like wii zumba, too. Haven't done it in a while, though. I kind of waver in between different things so I don't get bored. Right now, I'm doing Leslie Sansone workout videos. Love them!
