A Walk/Jog in January

Saturday, January 18, 2014

Well Spark friends,
We are all having some very extreme weather in 2014. Ours here in California is very dry and warm, with no break in sight. But, I must say I enjoyed my walk/jog today in the early afternoon. I decided to go to the top of the hill that our Jr. College is on. It is steep, and I do more walking than jogging, but it is a good workout and I can overlook our valley when I get to the top. I took a "selfie" to show you how brown and dry we are. I'm not very good at "selfies" but you get the idea. When I got back down to the boulevard, I snapped a picture of the digital temperature on one of our businesses. Then I snapped pictures of my greeting committee when I hit home. Mary, our remaining sheep is finally beginning to trust our dog, Molly, after the pit bull attacks last summer. And Molly, who misses Bosco, our old dog that we put to sleep before Thanksgiving, is enjoying the company. They make a good pair and put a smile on my face when I reach our driveway after a run.
Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

Good for you getting that exercise in.
I have been kind of sedentary lately so I just went with DH on a 2 mile walk last evening and I went alone on a one mile walk this afternoon.
We are enjoying the nice weather, but still would like it to rain. It is brown here too.

What beautiful pictures! (I haven't mastered the art of the selfie!) I appreciate the beautiful weather. I've been joking that when I was a kid, I often saw snow on my birthday! Not this year! At least not here.

What a lovely time outside you had today! Love that your sheep and dog have bonded, again proving that love can grow from adversity. I know the weather in CA is terribly dry so I'm hoping that you get some rain soon.
