Well 2014 started out nasty for me - I was hugging a bowl for 6 days!!
I spent New Year's Eve in the hospital - in the ER - dehydration and just wanted to be sure my kidneys were OK, ect. I have known 2 people who have died from flu complications while maintaining their chronic kidney disease.
I started my new semester on Jan 4 and went to class sick, however, I kept to myself and kept my hands in my gloves (to not spread germs).
Don and I had the most wonderful holiday with our kids and grandkids. We had most of them overnight and spent two wonderful days with our son and his wife from Cali.
A pic or two of the damage to my yard from the ice storm. We lost over half of one of our pine trees.
I joined the Winter 5% challenge - and am on the
My work load of 60 hours a week of work is taking its toll on me, I have gained 9 pounds!! I am committed to working out and tracking my food. I have to continue to work on this for me! my health! and look fit and be strong! NO ONE can do this for me!
I have been missing my dad! He was always my cheerleader! and encouraged me. I miss him so much! No one understands the connection that dad and I had, we shared our faith and prayed for each other every day! I miss his stubbornness, his grit to continue to fight his way through life with all of his ailments, his determination to share God's word and grace with everyone who crossed his path. I miss his love for me. I miss his presence in my life. I miss his quirkiness! I have a voice mail message from his birthday two years ago - I called to wish him a happy birthday, his phone went to voice mail so I left a message singing to him - he called me back and my phone went to voice mail, he left me a message singing happy birthday to himself...
that was my dad! I love him and miss him so very much!
