5% Firecrackers

Yes, I'm tackling another challenge even though I was overwhelmed during the last round of the 5% and the BLC. I didn't gain! And, with all that was going on during those months ---trip to the States, the sale of my parents' condo, heavy schedule at the language school, some issues with a friend that caused me some emotional stress --- I consider maintenance a success! Thanks to everyone who walked through those months with me and gave me their prayers and support.
Over the holidays, I also managed to maintain in spite of a case of bronchitis. I'm still coughing a little, but am ready to start gradually upping the cardio. Right now, I'm sticking to walking.

Sooo....I've decided to sit out a round of BLC (I DO miss the island, dear Azuritas!) and focus on the 5%. The next few months are going to be just as busy as last fall with plans to redo my bedroom and hallway next week, another stateside trip coming up in two weeks and some new responsibilities to look forward to when I get back. But I like the extra accountability of a challenge team and the encouragement of my Spark buddies, to get back on the losing track. 5% is definitely doable.

My fitness goals for the challenge period as a whole are simple - regular tracking and staying within ranges, at least 30 minutes of exercise each day, more on the weekends. I have a number of other personal and work-related goals, but will keep those for other blog posts.
Additional goal for this week: two trips to the gym to get in some ST.
When I get back from the US, I'll set weekly goals for the remaining challenge weeks. That should work!
Today, I'd like to get in the maximum exercise points for my team, the Firecrackers, since I won't get a chance to do that during the week. It's doable - I have to walk to town to do some errands, will get in a polewalk in the sunshine this afternoon, and will also go for a little ST this evening. Ready for take-off!

    Great goals!

    I tent to see more and more that this basic goals are the ones that propel me forward, tracking, being in my calories budget, doing my exercise routine... happy to hear your doing similar things!

    So glad you are back with the Firecrackers, as am I!!! I think we have a great team.

    I was in Naples about 2 1/2 years ago and loved it!! My first time there. My husband attended a lacrosse referee clinic there, and I tagged along. I wish you had been around as I had a day to kill. Ended up going to Sanibel. Right now it is in the 30s and dropping here, so the thought of Florida sunshine is very appealing. My son is actually living in Boca right now, but no trips are in the cards.

    You are missed on the island but we can understand why you needed to take a step back and take a bit of a break, too. You've had so much going on lately! I am glad that the 5% team will help you keep your healthy lifestyle/weight loss goals going and on the table, though. Best of luck in the challenge!

    You are busy! I am beginning a bathroom remodel soon, and can't believe how much of my energy is going into that! Maybe demo will count as exercise to help the Firecrackers!

    Best wishes for YOUR PERSONAL success in the Winter 5% Challenge. By the way.... I changed my blog background from my New Year's firecrackers to something NOT related to firecrackers!!!
    P.S. It's too difficult for me to use poles here on these very rough roads so I got rid of them. I do still have poles in the States awaiting my retirement.
