What a difference a day makes!

Subbed yesterday at a local public elementary school - music, and today at the Christian high school - biology. Wow, what a difference. While I enjoyed myself yesterday, and the kids were well-behaved (I would say a great school), yet I found myself cringing at the curriculum at times. For example, in a story the Kindergarten classes listened to, the listeners are advised to go to the wise moon with questions. Several songs that I recognized from Sunday school long ago, had been changed beyond recognition.

Today, I showed a video to freshmen and sophomores, presenting multiple sides of the issue of origin of life. The difference, in a public school, only one side would be shown. For a society that claims to be so open-minded and accepting of all, certain viewpoints are certainly well suppressed in our schools.
