Scars-we all have both the physical and emotional ones. When I was six, I put my hand through the Porch door window while running outside. I still remember how much I bled from my thumb and wrist. There are days when I will look at my left hand, and remember that awful afternoon. Seldom does it bother me, but there are occasions when I feel it.
There are also times when I am reminded of painful moments from my divorce where people tried to tell me what a mistake I was making by walking away from 25 years of marriage. They did not know that I was taking antidepressants and seeing a counselor to help me find joy and sanity again. There are times when I also feel the pain from those days too.
Having a scar is part of being human and living in a broken world. Even Jesus has scars. He forgave those who created the scars, and so must we.
