New Beginnings start with small steps

Wow! I am feeling it! Since I started back this week with SparkPeople I haven't really been exercising. I've been checking things out and making plans.
Sunday I had planned to go for a walk and do an exercise video on SP. Well the walk never happened and every time I went to do the video I was either interrupted by kids or the internet would go out. I felt very disappointed in myself.
Then yesterday I again wanted to go for a walk... didn't happen. But I did do the 9-min lower leg workout in the SP video archive. I thought "I'm on my feet all day walking all over the clinic and carrying anywhere from 5-60lb dogs. Surely I can do this video without it hurting too much". Well I did the video and thought I was going to die just in the first set of reps of squats.
WOW! I felt the burn! Then going into the other moves I thought "I don't think I'm gonna be able to make it through this video... it's only 9 mins... I can do this!" So I'm glad to say I did finish and was so thankful that I did. Not only because it was over but because I made it through and didn't die.
I was immediately sore the first time I went down the front steps to go get something out of my car. Then I thought okay I'll be sore tonight and then by tomorrow I should be fine... WRONG!!!
I got up this morning, went to get out of bed and OUCH!!! Yeah, so I was sore this morning. Then bending down to get dogs out of kennels and put them back in and then cleaning them... yeah... SORE!!
So tonight I said no leg workout. Instead I did a 10-min beginner palliates workout. Now my abs are sore. LOL.
My point is, it's a new beginning. I haven't workout in a long time. There's no way I can jump right into a 30 min workout. Small steps. Yes. I will be sore in my legs tomorrow still probably and my abs will probably hurt as well. But it's the small steps. At least I'm trying and not giving up due to a little soreness. I didn't gain all this weight in 1 week so I'm not going to lose it all in 1 week. Small steps will get me to my finish line.
So even though I will be sore tomorrow I will do another workout. It may only be a 10-min thing but 10 mins is better than nothing.
