Small changes that were unnoticed... until now

Sunday, January 12, 2014

I bought a shirt 2 years ago for a job interview. My husband at the time said I looked like Barney or a giant grape in the shirt ( it is purple). But I liked the shirt. It fit when I bought it and then about 1 yr later I went to put it on and it was too tight for my comfort. Today I put the same shirt on to wear to church and it was a little big on me.

Everyone around me kept saying that I was losing weight. I didn't feel really like I was but I knew I had lost some since the divorce. But putting this shirt on and realizing that it was a little big on me made me feel good.

I have another shirt in my closet that my ex-husband bought me for Christmas several years ago. I couldn't wear it because it was a little too tight. I love the color of it though so I hung on to it because I thought that one day I'll get into the shirt. So that is my next goal. To get into that shirt and feel comfortable in it.

Congratulations! I use clothes as my gauge rather than a scale. I kind of wish the Wii Fit didn't measure my weight, because now I know what it is. I'll just be happy when my favorite jeans fit again. :-)

It's always a great feeling when you finally notice the changes you are working on.

It's so important to celebrate those changes you notice, whether you feel they are big or small changes. I know the feeling. I've only lost about 18 lbs so far, but my size 14 jeans are starting to hang off and look baggier. I actually feel a bit silly when I wear them because I feel...I don't know, a bit unkempt. I don't really like it when close hang off and I look "frumpy." But it's a change that means a good thing, and a GOOD problem to have! I've also noticed that my posture is a bit better. :)

Way to go, and keep it up! emoticon emoticon

That's a perfect gauge. I'm always amazed what fits & what don't fit. Wishing you many more victories!
