5 days of the 30 Day Shred- DONE! + Feeling Good

The song of the day is "Feeling Good" by Nina Simone. So if you've never heard it or it's been awhile, you should go listen to it right now. Because it's pretty much the greatest.

Yesterday I finished day 5 of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. It's amazing how fast the body adjusts to exercise. It clearly wants to be in shape. It's a lot easier to get through than on that first day. I'm glad I kept pushing through. I'm taking a rest day today, and then heading back in for the last 5 days of level one tomorrow. I'm going to pick up a few light weights today for tomorrow, as I haven't been weighting down my exercises. I think modifying it that much kept me from injury, but I need more of a challenge now.

Tomorrow is my weigh in day. I'm a bit nervous. I don't know why. I just want to see a good result from my hard work.

I need to buy a new yoga DVD too. I'm definitely bored with the morning routine I currently have. The relaxing evening routine is still good though- fancy that! I don't do it nearly as often though because my roommate is typically watching TV in the living room at night. Oh well! I do it when I can.

Diet has been pretty good this week. I did buy a dark chocolate bar, and I've been having a few squares in the evening. It keeps me pretty satiated for sweets though. Yesterday, it was the assistant manager's birthday, so our manager brought a carrot cake for her. She cut everyone a piece. Since there was only 4 of us, I couldn't really object. I just made sure I grabbed the smallest piece, enjoyed it, and was thankful I got up early enough to get my workout in.

Well that's pretty much it for me. I'm going to use today to focus on more of my new years resolutions today. Hope everyone else is feeling positive and on track too!

    Good for you! I love those Jillian Michaels' DVDs -- just did Blast Fat Boost Metablism this morning. When the 30 day shred gets easier with weights, just increase the weights. But I will say, although that DVD has gotten easier for me over time, it still has the potential to kick my butt, which I love!

    I too use dark chocolate squares in the evening to satisfy cravings -- for me, it's really important to have some kind of treat to look forward to after dinner, even if it's small. That's a great strategy. And emoticon with the carrot cake! Good for you!

    I've done the 30 day shred before.. It is A LOT of work but it is so worth it. And the body DOES adapt after a while.

    Girl! You've got this! Do NOT sweat your carrot cake yesterday. I binged and had 2 cupcakes and potato chips with my girlfriend last night...totally enjoyed it...and still weighed in with a 3 lb loss today. You've been working hard with Jillian and you'll have great results too.
