Here comes work

Thursday, January 09, 2014

I have pretty much been off work besides 2 days a week since December 1st. This week I am taking care of my bosses elderly kitties 3 times a day. Then suddenly my photography job just came back with a vengeance as well. Hello winter sports! Hopefully winter doesn't continue to be so awful since I am have horrible anxiety about driving in bad conditions and usually send my husband with my SUV when things get bad. We shall see what happens. The assignments say "Weather permitting" so that's good.

I am finally back at the gym again now that the weather has warmed up a tad. Yesterday I walked at the mall with my friend and her friend. I guess making 1 full loop around the mall is a mile. We walked for about 40 minutes and got 5500 steps with fitbit. Almost got run over once by the REAL mall walkers. It was nice to walk again, I so miss it. Might try to take the pups in circles at the park later. They cleared the sidewalks so we can do some loops when it gets up to 28 soon! Eating has been blehhh, still working on making good habits. Never easy finding your way again after the holidays.

Yesterday I made another bread for my 2nd week of 2014. This one I started twice cuz the first loaf came out so soupy. 2nd loaf did too and I had to add a lot of flour to make it work. Bread is a cheap hobby, but also very strange and doesn't always work out so well. This loaf is pretty bland, it's oat flour bread. I had to steam it, never done that before. It cries out for a nice hearty vegetable soup to be dipped in. So that's what I am in the process of making while writing this.

Oh yes and the torts made it safely to Oklahoma last night! They continue their trip on Saturday afternoon. It was sad saying goodbye. Giving my dads animal to new homes never gets easier.

Oooh and I finally got my new pots and pans out of the box and Scott build me holders for them!

Well have a good weekend you guys!

I love the pot rack!!! :)

Food could be better here too, but getting back to school has helped me get my mind off food.

I love the idea of a weekly bread...I didn't realize it was such a cheap hobby...might have to give it a try!

Have you tried making sourdough? I guess you can by super old starter? How neat!

Hard to say goodbye to the torties I'm sure! I've never heard of steaming bread before, that's interesting!

Can you get snow tires where you live? Not sure how much help they are, but gotta be better than normal tires.

Love the pots and pans on the rack!

I can totally relate to your anxiety about driving in this snow/ice. I've driven since the day I turned 16 and I have never gotten used to it. In Chicago they may clear the roads well but they don't here. or where you live. I'm tired of the snow/ice/frigid temps.

The tortoises were beautiful. I hope they like their new home.

The new pans are beautiful. I love them!
