Focusing on an accomplishments

I am struggling with my eating right now, but am still getting in some workouts. I am hoping that will offset some of the damage. Yesterday at the gym, on the treadmill I finally reached a goal that I have been aiming for a couple of years now. I wanted to do a 2 mile at or under 20 minutes.

My time was 19:43 when the treadmill recorded 2 miles. I kept running for a 5k and finished at 30:53, still working on that sub30.

I feel like I am running better than ever now. Maybe it is because I took so many weeks off during the summer months and I was able to recharge. I am going longer at faster speeds. It feels good! no, it feels emoticon emoticon

During my non running days, I started doing the 30 day shred again; I have been able to add heavier weights now. Recently an article in Runner's World suggested that if you want to get a new PR in the 5k to do push-ups. I guess strengthening the upper body is supposed to help propel you forward. In the past, I could only do 2 full pushups, however I have since graduated to being able to do 7 before I lose form. I am feeling good about that accomplishment also. I have not set a goal as to the limit I want to reach, I just want to improve the number that I can do.

Now, if I can get my eating in control then I am sure I'll see even more improvements.
