Better than nothing.

I have been on track for a week now, which includes doing yoga and my leg exercises I learned in physical therapy. I can't go for walks outside like I used to because the roads around here are all uneven, which hurts my leg. Also, everything has been super icy lately, and I don't need to slip and hurt my leg anymore than it already is.

So today, in addition to my usual routine, I added in using my weights, and I walked circles around my house. I felt silly doing it, but doing laps around the house is better than doing nothing at all. At least doing it that way, I can just be done and sit down if my ankle or knee start to hurt, and not be stuck in pain down the street.

It's only been four months since the accident, but I hope I can walk more and without pain soon. I also want to be able to run again. The surgeon says I will be able to, but it's going to take time. My mom and I ran our first 5K in June, and loved it. My mom ran one in September and I was super jealous. I see the surgeon on Monday, and I am going to ask him if there are specific things I should/could do to help my walking.

It was hard for me to lose weight before, when I could run, and now with barely being able to walk for 10 minutes without pain, it will be even harder. But I know I can take the steps to get there.
